14-Year-Old Female Blogger Shot In The Head By The Taliban Not Out Of The Woods

Malala Yousafzai, the 14-year-old girl shot in the head and neck by the Taliban, for writing in her blog that she and other females in Pakistan should be able to get an education, is not out of the woods. She is resting comfortably in a hospital in Britain, but the impact of the bullet to her brain damaged her skull. Based on reports, she is not paralyzed from the gun shots, but it is not yet known if she has sustained irreversible brain damage.

In the event Yousafzai recovers, it would be best that she and her family stay in Britain, living in a building with good security, due to the Taliban's relentless behavior towards them. The Pakistani government could give her a lump sum, as those wounded in war, to help rebuild her life, via buying a flat (apartment). And let's face it, the Taliban has declared war on people like Yousafzai, who demand freedom, liberty and an education.

What is this world coming to that a person can get shot for their beliefs. However, in doing so, the Taliban has drawn international attention to Yousafzai plight and that of women in Pakistan, which also resulted in thousands holding a domestic rally for the critically injured girl. She is being treated in Birmingham, England and doctors are hopeful she will make a recovery. The teen's supporters want her to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. As stated on the site last week, Yousafzai and her family should be granted asylum in another nation. Britain would be a good choice.
