Mackenzies Cafe & Deli now open

I blogged about it 2 months ago, and now it's open. Mackenzies opened for business last Thursday afternoon and is open every day from 8-8, including Fridays. The store is located in MQ, in the same building as Costa Coffee, just next to the Busy Bees nursery (behind Subway).

The place is split into 2: a Cafe at the front with lots of comfortable seating, and then at the back is the deli selling freshly imported products ranging from salmon & mussels, to fresh beef, lamb and pork products. The cafe has sandwiches which change every few days, and there is even freshly baked bread flown in from, I think the lady said, Belgium.

It is my understanding that everything for sale in the deli is freshly imported, nothing is frozen. Prices are, when considering that everything is air-freighted in, and taxed heavily, not too bad. But most importantly there are a lot of products available in the store that I've not seen for sale anywhere else.

Freshly made pies, ready for you to take home and bake in your oven, are also available, along with an extensive fresh olive selection and more. It's certainly worth a look in, I was quite pleased to get a jar of lemon curd (not seen that for sale here before)!
